Stopped in Ellensburg for dinner on the way to the concert, and happened to glance down a side street where this colorful house stood awaiting a visit.

Hey! That’s just what we’re wondering. It’s Dick & Jane’s spot- an art site and home- a work in progress for 35 years. For those without a camera, there’s a handy-dandy postcard vending machine by the front walk.

On the way, these folks greet us as well as a row of tall happy sunflowers, this one complete with a striped helper.

Here’s the yard now, a giant hand waves out front along with this perky lady, hubba-hubba.

A number of decorative posts support the fence around the yard including a number two pencil.

Bean found an array of critters just hangin’ around, adding one to the post for good measure.

There are a heap of sculptures all about the yard, some incorporating glass bottles and various metals, but this whirly windmill chimney thing’s the most nifty.

Lastly a gate to the backyard is a favorite, reminiscent of the Neverland trees out near Point Defiance Zoo and studded with bits that look a bit like pennies. I’d love to penny my kitchen floor one day, though I settle for a small table for the time being.
