SPENT THE EVENING

Spent the evening helping run the apple stacking booth at the Northwest Church Harvest Festival. As Waldo, I was found a number of times, including by another Waldo! Talking with so many kids of all ages, encouraging them and complimenting them on their costumes was a total joy.
A favorite was watching a fourish-yr-old turn each apple over and back, placing them in rows like a container of eggs then systematically stacking them up after his analysis. He methodically and swiftly made a sturdy stack, celebrated by cheering himself on with pumped fists, and then was the only one of the night to put any and all of the apples back in the bowl before claiming his candy prize and thanking me kindly. He showed more thought and manners as his mom stood in the distance then I've experienced from many adults in recent times.
And the highest apple stack? Six.
